College Graduates Job Prospects are Improving

This article highlights the improving job situation for recent college grads. A recent job fair in California State University-Long Beach is used as one example. This job fair attracted roughly 50 percent more employers than the year before. Students attending were also cited as being more optimistic about their options than those from years past. Other students and employment experts in other areas of the country are also cited, giving a brighter jobs picture for recent grads. Caveats are here, too, however, with the caution cited that there are still just not enough jobs for all the seniors that need them.

Horicon Phoenix Program and Horicon Public Library hosted a job fair wherein the job seekers were provided with tips on how to put together a résumé. The idea came about after a conversation she had with her mother, a career counselor, about how often people came to the library for assistance with their résumés. Many of the attendees were looking for jobs after the company has downsized or closed. The turn out has led the organizers to hold it annually.
